Every great seat cushion has a secret layer working just beneath the surface. Bramport Supply Co.'s aerospace Nomex® batting delivers that soft, refined touch fabricators rely on, while bringing the fire-resistant performance that transportation interiors demand. It's the finishing detail that makes upholstery look and feel professional, without compromising on safety.
Made from 100% Nomex, this batting is prized for adding plushness and definition to seat cushions. It excels at channeling and tufting, making it a go-to fabric for upholsterers who want crisp, clean cushion detailing. As a fire-retardant batting panel, it also brings impressive flammability credentials to the table.
What Makes This Batting a Fabricator Favorite:
- Superior tufting performance: Ideal for channeled and tufted cushion designs
- Broad certification: Tested to 14 CFR 25.853(a), NFPA-130, FMVSS 302, and multiple smoke density standards
- Dress cover enhancement: Can be sewn or glued underneath to improve cover performance
- FAA-certified: Includes an FAA burn certificate for 25.853(a)
Common Applications Include:
- Aircraft and rotorcraft seat cushions
- Channeling and tufting for detailed upholstery work
- Rail interior seating (meets all railway requirements)
- Automotive interiors (greatly exceeds automotive flammability standards)
Can this replace a fire barrier?
No. While it can pass the 14 CFR 25.853(c) Oil Burn for Seat Cushion test with suitable foam, it should not be used in place of a fire barrier. It isn't adequate to protect most foams on its own; use our Fire Blocking Fabric instead. The exception is when paired with DAX Foam® or Galaxy foam.
